Accidents

Offers financial support through a sum of money if you become permanently disabled or even pass away as the result of an accident. You’ll receive this sum of money all at once. This insurance is active during your shifts via UWassistent and your commute to and from your shifts.

What is an accident insurance?

Accident insurance pays out a sum of money if you become permanently disabled or die as a result of an accident. It will then pay out a lump-sum of money. If you do become permanently disabled, you’ll receive the sum of money after your degree of disability no longer changes (maximum of € 50,000). If you pass away due to an accident, your family and/or dependants will receive the sum immediately (€ 25,000).

This insurance is useful to make sure you’re able to cover the new costs that come with permanent disability, such as adjustments to your home or the costs of a hospital stay.

So here’s a few examples of scenarios that are and aren’t covered.

  1. You’re on your way home and get into a car accident. It was quite the blow, and you become disabled. You have a permanent loss of function of your leg. Now you can no longer do the work you would usually do, and need to learn a new profession.

  2. You’ve had an accident and need medical treatment. During that treatment, something has gone wrong, which causes you to pass away. Your dependents receive a sum of money.
Covered: incorrect medical treatment after an accident
  3. After a fun evening out, you get on your bike a little too drunk. You didn’t see a red traffic light, and have a collision with a car.
